The Certified Anti-Terrorism Practitioner program is a 3 day program that includes a certification test. The modules in the CATP have also been provided as a training tool to the New York Police Department (NYPD). The CATP is an introduction to the methods utilized by terrorist group with specific focus on the Islamic State and al Qaeda and its network, including the hierarchical structure.
The program provides the practitioner with methods utilized for training, funding and gathering intelligence, the operational faces of a terrorist attack and the process of target selection. The course also identifies traditional crimes associated with funding terrorist organizations. Finally, the course examines the behavioral indicators and methodologies associated with the phenomenon of suicide attacks, including self-sacrificing and other suicide attacks.
The course is designed to prepare security practioners as well as law enforcement and security agencies to understand and address the threats associated to terrorist operations. The CATP program provides a detailed exploration of contemporary terrorism, methods and essential skills and knowledge that is needed to curtail the evolving threats. The CATP is a program that security practitioners should possess.
