The Close Quarter Battle (CQB) training was conducted by Stratad Asia-Pacific Strategic Centre in cooperation with TASK Int of the United Kingdom. Elite Special Forces personnel were selected for the training program in the UK. The training program was a specialized program for the RMAF’s requirements and was coordinated by Andrin Raj and the than Chairman of TASK Int. Sir Gerald Jeremy Moor who commanded the Falklands War in Argentina.
The certificate in Counter Terrorism for Senior Royal Malaysian Air force personnel was the first of its kind to be provided in Malaysia to the Ministry of Defence, Malaysia. The program was delivered by SAPSC Senior Adviser Dr. Rohan Gunaratna, Head of the Centre for Political Violence and Terrorism Research (IPVCTR) Singapore. The program was assisted by Andrin Raj, SEA Regional Director of IACSP and Director for SAPSC.
TASK Int. conducted these trainings for the Royal Malaysian Police Force VAT 69 prior to the Commonwealth Games in Malaysia. The training program consisted more than a hundred personnel for the deployment of the games to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The training consisted of specialized operations in public and crowd operational theatre against security threats and anti-terrorism measures.
Stratad Asia-Pacific Strategic Centre and the IACSP provided the training program for the largest Malaysian peace keeping missions under the United Nations to Lebanon in 2006. The training program was to prepare the UNIFIL toops to Lebanon to equip them with first hand knowledge and expectations in Lebanon.The training provided indept information for the Malaysia troops deployed to Lebanon.
Stratad Asia-Pacific Strategic Centre’s Senior Adviser, Dr. Rohan Gunaratna presented the seminar on terrorist threats in Southeast Asia and the Thai insurgency. The seminar was attended by the Chief of Army and senior officers of the Malaysian Army. The seminar provided informative issues regarding the threats in Southeast Asia.
